Epistemo Vikas Leadership School organized a two-day Capacity Building Programme (CBP) for its educators on 22 and 23 September 2026. The program, titled “Strengthening Assessment and Evaluation Practices," was designed to keep teachers aligned with the latest developments in the CBSE assessment framework.
Assessment and evaluation are integral to teaching and learning at the school. As CBSE continues to refine and strengthen its assessment framework, it is important for educators to stay current and ensure that classroom practice remains aligned with the evolving guidelines.

Programme at a Glance: Why This Programme Mattered
Schools are expected to reflect changes in CBSE assessment practice in how they plan, conduct, and record assessments. Instead of leaving teachers to interpret each update individually, the school set aside dedicated time for educators to study the changes together, discuss how they apply across subjects, and plan for implementation.
The program had three aims:
- To review the latest CBSE updates on assessment and evaluation
- To give teachers a platform to exchange professional perspectives
- To further strengthen the assessment practices already followed in classrooms
Resource Persons
The sessions were led by two resource persons, Ms. D. Suseela and Ms. J. Revathy Dasan, who guided teachers through the updated framework and the practical sessions across the two days.
What Was Covered
Discussions over the two days covered the main components of the current assessment framework:
- Structure of assessment:
- Multiple Assessment: using more than one approach to understand student learning
- Periodic Tests: planning and conducting them effectively/li>
- Student Portfolios: their role in assessing student progress
- Subject Enrichment Activities: how they fit into the assessment scheme
- Co-Scholastic Activities: the remodelled approach to assessing them
Hands-On Sessions
The program was practical as well as informational. In the hands-on sessions, teachers worked on subject-specific blueprints and question papers and explored suitable strategies across different forms of assessment. Working with their own subject material allowed teachers to test the guidelines against real classroom needs.
Report Cards and CBSE Circulars
The program also covered the updated report card formats for Classes IX and X, along with recent CBSE circulars, so that teachers are clear about current expectations and can plan accordingly.

The two-day CBP gave educators a meaningful opportunity to reflect on current practices, share insights, and stay abreast of the latest developments in CBSE assessment. It reinforces the school’s commitment to continuous professional growth and to the effective assessment of student learning.
